Project Details

The 3.10-acre Pelton Park, located McLean and Van Cortlandt Park avenues, will feature all-weather, artificial turf fields to replace existing natural-grass turf fields. The new turf fields will include a baseball field (90 ft. bases), a little league baseball field (60 ft. bases), and a multi-purpose rectangular field for soccer/lacrosse and field hockey. The improvements will also add a small parking lot, bleachers, fencing and renovated restrooms.

Artificial turf fields will replace existing natural-grass fields on the upper level of the 3.75-acre Fleming Field, located at Prescott and Fillmore streets. The new turf fields will include a little league baseball field, a full-size rectangular soccer field in the baseball outfield, and two smaller youth soccer fields overlapped on the larger soccer field. Bleachers, fencing, walkways and landscaping are included in the project as well.

In the third part of the agreement, a modular skate park with bleachers, fencing and walkways will be constructed in a portion of the parking lot at the city’s E.J. Murray Memorial Skating Center on Tuckahoe Road.

All three facilities will be operated and maintained by the City of Yonkers under an inter-municipal agreement between the city and the county, and all will be available for use by all Westchester County residents.
